Standing upon the ledge looking down, we feel fear because we believe without question, that to jump is to fall – it is a belief held to the highest degree of faith. It is irrelevant whether we call this an ‘absolute belief’ or ‘knowledge’ as in we ‘know’ we will fall – the point of importance rests in the certainty. In this case: 100%.
Certainty is what defines a perfect belief -- all else are imperfect beliefs. Imperfect beliefs are the combination of belief and doubt. The term 'Believe' therefore refers to how well our behavior reflects the object we claim to believe.
Imperfect Beliefs
As we can see, all beliefs that are not certain beliefs are synthetic, or imperfect. Perfect is defined as:
Having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be. Absolute.
Gravity, then, shows us that beliefs are modifiers of perception and behavior. We do believe in gravity – because all emotional and mental behaviors reflect the content of the belief: that the Earth will hold us always.
…What we learn from gravity, because it is such an extreme and absolute example, is that absolute beliefs control absolutely. If absolute beliefs control absolutely, then our partial, superficial or imperfect beliefs will control us in the same way. Thus our thoughts, emotions and actions are diluted. At various times we are controlled or influenced or motivated by whim and not concrete substance or enduring principle.
This is the effect of Imperfect beliefs – an erratic and unpredictable life.
In all matters in which we've formed an opinion, we are influenced to some degree by the conclusion we accept. To accept ideas conclusively without investigation (i.e. how were the Great Pyramids built) is to become ‘possessed’ by superstition -- in the literal sense: things we know nothing about.
Catastrophic Effect of Imperfect Beliefs
In cases of universal, societal and biological origins, imperfect beliefs are generally catastrophic.
Yet, this is a slow motion catastrophe which chips away at our quality of life or culture through stress or fear over the course of a lifetime. And because everyone else seems to suffer the same condition, we rationalize it as 'normal'.
This conflict or slow-motion catastrophe occurs because there is no substance or lasting principle governing our individual world or reality; at each instant and for every and event we encounter, there are several ways to perceive or interpret the events before us. In the absence of a concrete and lasting identity, it is our identity which shifts in the face of changing circumstances; over time we become unintelligible to ourselves.
This is Babylon.
Two systems of control and a “divided government”.
Government literally defined means: Control of the Mind. Govern-Mente.
Two Separate Realities
In the same way perfect beliefs modify our behavior and thoughts absolutely, imperfect (or synthetic) beliefs modify our thoughts and behavior in an irregular and disorganized fashion. They literally cause us to behave as if we exist in two separate realities, two different worlds with different laws, and in which we possess different identities. This is the Origin (apart from material or biologically derived instances) of all psychological and sociological pathology.
Thus, whatever we are committed to in our personal, family or professional life, we MUST raise ourselves to the level of assurance and confidence in our tasks as we would give to gravity itself.
If the full magnitude of how much of a catastrophic failure this is has not yet been made apparent – think of it like a world where instead of constant, elegant laws of physics governing reality, day in and day out, instead, the laws change whenever they want, without principle or advanced notice.
Imagine if gravity itself decided at whim to change its mind...
(like this, but more terrifying)
Yet, again, to establish real beliefs, meaning is necessary – for this, experience is needed.
Experience refers to any subjective state, any thing you are consciously aware of, whether thought or reality. Contemplation is the path to experience in matters spiritual or abstract, which cannot be known directly in the world that is seen.
Our belief in gravity is only absolute because we Experience it at all moments. So, for a lifetime we have generated meaning and expectations based upon a consistent stimulus within our environment. We must train our INTERNAL stimulation (our mind and emotions) to be consistent... to be consistent means to be POSITIVE and to BELIEVE IN whatever we CHOOSE to do... otherwise, why choose it at all?
To achieve this you simply have to WILL IT... (not that willing it is easy). What I mean by this is that your MIND will CONTINUE TO DOUBT, CONTINUE to give you 'reasons' to doubt yourself or your actions or the chance of your success... let the mind doubt as it pleases... let your WILL BE to IGNORE THESE, and FEEL AS ONE WHO BELIEVES WITHOUT QUESTION.
B E L I E V E in YOU, like YOU B E L I E V E in GRAVITY.
